Fil-Am singer-songwriter na si H.E.R., pinarangalan sa 61st Grammy Awards

ANG R&B singer-songwriter na may dugong Pinoy na si H.E.R. ay naparangalan sa 61st Grammy Awards na ginanap sa Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Si H.E.R. (Having Everything Revealed) ay Fil-American music artist at napanalunan nito ang dalawang Grammy for Best R&B Performance (“Best Part”) at Best R&B Album sa 61st Grammy Awards.

Si H.E.R., na ang tunay na pangalan ay Gabriella “Gabi” Wilson, ay nakakuha ng limang Grammy nominations para sa debut album niya na H.E.R. Naglakad ito sa Grammy red carpet at nag-perform sa Grammy stage.

Bukod sa Best R&B Album at R&B Performance, na-nominate si H.E.R. Best New Artists, Best R&B Song (“Focus”) at Album of the Year kunsaan nakalaban niya sina Cardi B. (Invasion of Privacy); Drake (Scorpion); Brandi Carlile (By The Way, I Forgive You); Post Malone (Beerbongs & Bentley); Janelle Monae (Dirty Computer) at Black Panther: The Album.

Lumaki si H.E.R. sa San Francisco Bay Area to a Filipino mother and African-American father. Pinalaki si H.E.R. na alam ang kulturang Pinoy at inspired ang music niya sa values na tinuro sa kanya ng kanyang ina.

“I’m so proud to be Filipino. And when I think about what I do this (music) for, I think about the values of my mother, who’s one of the kindest people I know. We’re not very materialistic, and we care about family, which is a very important aspect of Filipino culture,” sey pa niya.

Unang lumabas bilang child prodigy si H.E.R. sa Today Show dahil sa pag-awit nito ng mga songs Alicia Keys. At age 12 ay nakipag-compete si H.E.R. sa Radio Disney’s The Next BIG Thing.

Taong 2016 nang ilabas ang debut album niya na H.E.R. Vol. 1 at nasundan ito ng H.E.R. Vol. 2 at H.E.R Vol 2: The B Sides in 2017. At I Used To Know Her: The Prelude and I Used To Know Her: Part 2 in 2018.

Ang pagka-describe ng Apple Music sa songs ni H.E.R. ay “downcast post-breakup material that sounded vulnerable and assured at once.”
